A bike can bring you down a trail, right to the water’s edge, or through canopied residential streets – all of which will make your vacation even more special. From child bikes ideal for kids to e-bikes built for speed – a bicycle rental is a great way to enjoy all the sunshine and beauty that Siesta Key offers.
So Many Bike Rental Options – Which is Right for You?
E-Bikes (pedal assist 8-speed bikes) – These are wildly popular and used extensively on the Key and all over town. They are perfect for adults who feel confident on a bicycle and want to explore on two wheels for an extended period. If you’d like to travel long distances, such as down the Legacy Trail or to visit Sarasota downtown, e-bikes will ensure you won’t get too tired. Remember, though – as tempting as it may be to go out onto the beach, these bikes are for street use only.
Beach Cruisers (single speed) – These bikes are most appropriate for leisurely exploring, whether heading to a new restaurant or making your way to the beach for sunset. The bikes can be used on the street and on the sand. The famous Siesta Key sand is too soft for riding in many places, but you can legally ride on the packed sand along the waterline. However, be sure to watch for signs – no riding is allowed along crowded public beach areas.
Geared Bikes (21-speed Trek Hybrid) – If you are more than a casual bicyclist and are hoping to get in a workout, ask about our geared street bikes. One of our favorite routes for long rides takes you to Longboat Key, where the road stretches before you for 11 sun-drenched, flat miles. The route will take you past scenic golf courses and luxury resorts along the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
Adult Trikes – If you want a little more stability or need to bring along extra gear, adult trikes may be the best choice for you.
Kid-Friendly Bicycles— You can’t have a family bike ride without the kids! We have options that will accommodate any stage or age of child, whether they can ride by themselves or need to tag along on your bicycle. We have the equipment you need, from child seats to bike trailers (kiddie carts) to pull behind you. Making Siesta Key vacation memories is easy when the entire family enjoys a bike excursion together.
Additional Gear – Locks, helmets, and baskets are included with rentals upon request. If you’d like a basket on your bike, pre-reserve your bikes, as quantities can be limited.
