Jim Neville Marine Preserve on Little Sarasota Bay

Sarasota Bay is bounded by Sarasota, Lido Key, Longboat Key, Bradenton Beach, and Bradenton. It boasts beautiful, clear waters that are perfect for a Siesta Key kayak tour.

The Jim Neville Marine Preserve is named after Sarasota Environmentalist Jim Neville. There are many vacation rentals nearby, so if you’re staying anywhere near this gorgeous 35 acres of preserved land, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to explore this part of Siesta Key.

Grab your kayak rentals or paddle boards from Ride & Paddle by Siesta Sports Rentals and head out for a half-day or full day of adventure. While you paddle along the shallow waters of the preserve, keep an eye out for manatees and dolphins, who have been known to get up close and personal with kayakers and paddlers. Lido Key

It has white sandy beaches and beautiful turquoise waters, and there are plenty of vacation rentals nearby. It’s a top eco-tourism destination, and kayak tours are a popular way to explore the Gulf of Mexico.

Longboat Key

Longboat Key in Sarasota County offers 12 miles of white sand beaches and plenty of elegant resorts, making this a prime destination for luxury tourism. Turtle Beach

Turtle Beach is one of our very favorite destinations for a kayak tour. Tucked away towards the end of Siesta Key, you’ll find fewer tourists off the beaten path, which means there will be plenty of opportunities for marine life sightings.

Our kayak tours launch at Turtle Beach, and we will paddle from Blind Pass Lagoon to the Jim Neville Marine Preserve. It’s a leisurely paddle around the island with a stop at the secluded Midnight Pass Beach where we spend some time on the beach to swim, search for shells and enjoy the gorgeous view. Our kayak tours last about 2 1/2 hours, and you’ll leave with knowledge of the ecology, history, and wildlife of this beautiful Siesta Key gem.
