The Drum Circle

The Siesta Key Drum Circle is a weekly event that takes place on the beach in front of the pavilion. Each and every Sunday, an hour or two before sunset, the eclectic crowd begins to gather. As the rhythmic beats begin, the circle forms – made up of local characters, regular participants, and curious tourists. A few people will begin to dance inside the circle, and the crowd fills in – dancing, smiling and enjoying the cool evening breezes with a background beat. The Circle is one of the longest-running traditions on Siesta Key and is a perfect memory in the making. The best part? Anyone can join in the fun. Kids bang on plastic buckets, old timers rattle tambourines, and a contingent of percussionists wail away on their bongos. Bring a drum to play along, or simply enjoy the weekly spectacle with the most spectacular backdrop – a Siesta Key sunset.

The Farmers Market

One of the best ways to enjoy a slow and relaxing weekend on vacation is to wander through a farmer’s market. The Siesta Key Farmer’s Market takes place every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm and features a diverse variety of products from local artisans, entrepreneurs, and chefs. Enjoy fresh bread, juices, and coffee while browsing booths with local produce, clothing, oils, crafts, jewelry, oil painting, freshly made tacos, and so much more! The Farmer’s Market is located at 5211 Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Siesta Key Village – grab your bike or scooter and enjoy!

The Crystal Classic

Although it only happens once a year, the Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition has been a sensation since 2010. The Crystal Classic is a favorite of professional sand sculptors who love the cleanliness of the pristine white sand, commenting that their creations “look like marble.” Master sculptors from around the country and the world gather for the annual four-day event, creating massive sand masterpieces that transform our already gorgeous beach into the world’s most unique outdoor art gallery.

The annual event has grown in popularity and purse size, hosting over 40,000 attendees and generating millions of local tourism dollars that significantly impact the local economy of the community. The festival is known as an exclusive and premier destination event on the country’s #1 beach – and is presented by the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce. The Crystal Classic promotes tourism, supports local businesses, and celebrates the visual arts. If you happen to be on Siesta Key in November, you cannot miss the opportunity to visit one of the most unique sculpture festivals in the world. This year’s Classic will be held November 15-18, 2024.
